Knockaround Guys

Back

The other night my wife and I decided to go see a movie. The previews for "Knockaround Guys" looked funny. I see Seth Green in a movie about mob brats who've lost their father's money to some small town sheriff's and I'm in!

I assumed that it would be a very funny movie. Something similar to Suicide Kings or Eight Heads in a Duffle Bag. Instead I was suprised to find a rather gritty, and quite dramatic movie about the tortures of growing up in the shadow of your mob boss father.

As the movie went on and became more and more serious I got rather skeptical. I had gone in expecting a comedy after all. But, I was quickly won over by Vin Diesel's OUTSTANDING performance as well as Berry Pepper just being the man. Seth Green also proves he can do more than just comedy in this one.

After Marbles (Green) Botches a money pick-up, wannabe mobster Matty Demeret (Pepper) recruits pals Taylor Reese (Diesel), Johnny Marbles (Green), and Chris Scarpa (Davoli) to track down the money and impress his father Benny "Chains" Demeret (Hopper). But soon everything that can go wrong does.

I can't say much more without losing the ability to look myself in the mirror in the mornings. A must see and three and a half stars in this man's modest opinion.
